Logistics Services

Hospital Instrument Logistics

Separation and shipping

For an orthopedic surgery, kits are sent to the hospital with all available sizes of plates, screws, among others, so that at the time of surgery, the doctor decides, observing the patient’s case, what size, quantity and type of material to use;

Then we separate the boxes of instruments and other equipment needed for that surgery, such as manometer, drill guide, perforator, among others, that will be sent to the hospital as well.

TRANSPORT

For the transportation of the materials, as well as the boxes of instruments and other equipment to the hospitals, vehicles specially prepared for this type of transport are needed, that is to say, a thermally insulated car, a refrigeration machine, real-time temperature monitoring, and a data logger. We cannot forget that these vehicles are inspected and approved by the municipality’s health surveillance. In other words, this type of transportation of health products cannot be performed by just any vehicle.

DELIVERY

In order to deliver the materials, as well as the boxes of instruments and other equipment to the hospitals, our collaborator goes to the Material and Sterilization Center (CME), Orthotics, Prostheses and Special Materials (OPME) and CLINICAL ENGINEERING of the hospital in question, where the checking of the kits, boxes of instruments and other equipment is done by an employee of the hospital, taking one (instrument voucher) of what was left.

We also highlight that our employees receive specific training to deal with these materials.

REVERSE LOGISTICS

After the surgery is over, all the products from the kit that were not used by the doctor are removed from the hospital and taken back to our client, or to whomever he indicates, along with the instrument boxes, properly cleaned and organized, as well as the equipment. This process is known as reverse logistics and is entirely performed by us, at LOG10;

When these products are returned, we check them again with a hospital employee through the (instrument voucher), matching all the expenses and the quantity and types of materials used/ not used in surgery in order to ensure that there is no error. That routine prevents loss and misplacement of materials. After these processes, the product returns to stock so that it can integrate a new surgery kit in the future.
